About Me:
My story is far from traditional. When I graduated from St. Cloud State University in 2010, I wasn’t sure how or even if God would give me the opportunity to use my teaching degree. My husband was in the US Army and military life is not exactly conducive for a teacher. We moved around twice over the next year until we settled in Georgia for a season. In 2011, God opened a door and I was asked to teach preschool at a Lutheran preschool in Pooler, GA. The opportunity to use my talents and gifts for God were short lived. My husband deployed to Afghanistan while I was pregnant with our first child. I developed complications and, to put our growing family first, resigned, to move home to Minnesota with family while he was gone. Two more moves and children later, we said goodbye to Army life and moved back to Minnesota in 2016. Once again, God opened a door and I was offered a second grade position at Bloomington Lutheran School. The timing was not right with 3 kids under 5 at home so I sadly declined. I was sure the time for me to be a teacher was over. The door had closed. But, as the saying goes, “When the Lord closes a door, somewhere He opens a window. ” In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, our school was having trouble finding substitute teachers to fill in. My phone rang and I started subbing. I continued to sub over the next 3 years until the timing was right for our family and for me to return to teaching.
My journey was quite unique. It is beyond obvious to me that God was working the entire time for me to return to the classroom in His timing, and use my talents and love of teaching in service to Him. Not only has God allowed me to teach, but I also am blessed with the opportunity to teach His word to His little lambs at Bloomington Living Hope Lutheran School.
I spend my time cheering on my children in their various sports throughout the year. I enjoy camping and swimming in the summertime and watching football (Go Pack Go!) in the fall and winter. I love to read and game nights are my favorite!
I am so excited to get to know you and your child this year. May God bless our time together!
