ποΈπ A Day of History and Discovery in St. Paul!
Last week, our 8th graders took a field trip to the historic James J. Hill House and the beautiful Cathedral of Saint Paul!
π James J. Hill House: Students learned about James J. Hillβs influence on Minnesota and the surrounding region. Built for the railroad tycoon, this impressive 36,000-square-foot mansion was once the largest private residence in Minnesota! Students marveled at the homeβs incredible details, including beautiful chandeliers, stained glass, hand-carved woodwork, and a two-story art gallery. They also learned about the lives of the family members, servants, workers, and guests who spent time in the home.
βͺ Cathedral of Saint Paul: Our students also visited this magnificent cathedral, located on Cathedral Hill overlooking downtown St. Paul. It is a religious and historical landmark. Students had the opportunity to admire its iconic architecture, impressive copper-clad dome, and beautiful design. The cathedral stands over 300 feet tall and is the third-largest cathedral in the United States.
What a wonderful opportunity for our students to step back in time, explore Minnesotaβs rich history, and experience these incredible landmarks firsthand! β€οΈπ
