Extra-Curricular Activities – Fine Arts

Piano Lessons

Depending on teacher availability, children may enroll in private piano lessons in grades 2 – 8. It is preferred that these lessons take place outside the school day in grades 2 – 4, but require that they occur before or after the school day. BLH allows lessons provided by the teacher(s) sanctioned by the school. Families who employ their own piano teachers are asked to hold lessons off school campuses.

Band Lessons

Depending on conductor availability, BLH offers band lessons to groups organized by instruments and as a combined group in grades 5 – 8. There is an additional fee for this subcontracted program. Rehearsals and lessons are held weekly before the school day. The BLH band represents the school by performing at school functions like Grandparents Day, plays, basketball games, the Christmas service, and graduation.

Joyful Noise – students can audition to be part of this group that sings music written for 4 part vocal harmony.  They perform at various school and community events throughout the Twin Cities.  Mrs. Zahn, Director

Drama – Our school has 3 plays each year.  Kindergarten Play, Grades 1-4 Play and Grades 5 -8 Play.
